Our SER is a real gem

I just received a voicemail from SER, telling me he had gone out to my house to check and make sure it was okay after the tornado went through. What a guy....thanks, SER, you made my day. I had just heard the news or rather saw it and was a mite concerned.

I tried to find a picture of Mr. Potato with a crown....boo-hoo...anyway, pretend there is one right here.

Thanks again, SER!!!!!!

I went out on the RJT website and saw the pictures. Glad no one was hurt.
SER, that is a very nice thing you did.

Glad to hear your place is okay...hope there isn't too much damage around the city.

Looks like the worst of it is well past Racine now...Cleveland is about to get smacked. Fast moving system.

I was 4000 feet from the roof of the Case-Holland building whose roof was torn off. I was on the second floor of Case High School.

The sirens were wailing... (they were not audible in all areas of the building due to no windows)...so I had no idea what was happening. I thought hail was hitting the roof, due to the overhead roar.

NO PRECAUTIONS were initiated by the school administration. I am furious that they are so cavalier with my safety, not to mention the safety of the other 3,000 students and staff in the building.

Last week, there was contraband (weapons) found inside the school. No school-wide, official lock down ensued, just a search of the immediate area. What the hell is going on?

I understand that Park and Horlick went into tornado drill procedure today, and they were much further away from the potential touch down.

Btw, very nice job SER! I think RUSD should hire you to be in charge of our safety!

There was a tornado when I was teaching in Florida (in '98, shortly after the deadly central Florida tornadoes that year). It was over lunch, but we herded the students to the assigned areas and did the crouch and cover thing.

One girl (a senior in high school) gets up and comes over to me saying that she had to go home because he mom didn't allow her to be in school when there was a tornado! Really, that was her story. Yeah, as if THAT story would get us to just let her drive home in that weather. I made her sit right back down...and never did get that nasty threatened call from her mom!

I did take a few photos of some damage. I tried to get closers but way too many police officers.

I sent 4 of them to Fox 6 and they are on their web page. #17, 18, 19 & 20

I should have mentioned the power lines pic is on KR west of Hy31. The downed trees are in the parking lot of the Greek church on Wright Ave and Hy31

Wow. I guess the tornado was on the leading edge of the storm. I heard the sirens briefly, far off, but then the sun poked out again. It's been pretty freaky all day, with stuff blowing everywhere. And it's supposed to be the same tomorrow. A guy with a chainsaw can make some money in times like these.

Oh yeah, good job, SER.

So no one has a Mr. Potato Head with a crown??? What is this guys...can't we find one for SER?

Again, I was having such a horrid day today and then I got your voicemail, SER, it put the smile back on my face. Thanks. You and Biggie D made my day a much brighter one.

I think the second one suits SER well.
