Yep, just a quick happy update. Did my fifteenth consecutive Disney Marathon yesterday after getting back on my feet from the accident in September. Ran better than I expected. I lost a lot of training. I thought I would finish, but that the speed may be down quite a bit. Only a few minutes slower than last year, much closer than I expected. Good training next year and I could go even faster.
Weather was wonderful. Mid-40s and calm wind at the start. Mild breeze at the end, but it warmed up enough by then that it was still comfortable. Lots of characters on the course this year...maybe I could have come closer to last year's time if I didn't stop so much for pictures!
For the first time ever, they gave marathon finishers a free ticket to the parks for "Marathon Monday". You had to bring your finisher's medal, so just entering the race didn't get you the tix.
Good days. Signing up for #16 as soon as registration opens.

very nice Hale!
Glad you were able to do it again :)
Congrats!! such an accomplishment especially after your accident..
wish I had just a quarter of your motivation..
Congratulations Hale. I wish I had your energy.
I'm so happy you are feeling well enough for this. Congratulations on your finish and speed! Are you sure that slow and steady doesn't win the race? :)
This is definitely great news, Hale. Congratulations on your recovery! Glad to hear about it.
Congratulations, hale! Nicely done.
Good job Boppster
Great job, Hale!
Thanks. It was a good day. Marathons are not easy for me as I am not your natural skinny long distance runner. I am not fat or anything, but have more of a football player build than marathoner build. Fortunately, I still enjoy it and get a lot of health and mental benefits from it to keep me going.
Congrats!!
