Hello everyone! Welcome back to Four for Fridays after long week of work. Overtime-sigh. Need the money though. Anyways, here are some random questions.
1) If you were mayor of this town (or where ever you live), what would be the first thing you would do in office?
2) What teacher do remember the most?
3) Do you consider yourself healthy?
4) Do you know CPR?
Enjoy your weekend!

1) I would get rid of the gangs and violence, the weapons that go along with it.
2) Mrs Wilson my art teacher she also taught me how to use a weaving loom. That is what I loved to do in that class.
3) Not really.
4) Yes I do. I use to be a Girl Scout Leader so I had to take a class.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!♥
1. Wouldn't know how I would do it, but I would love to do something that would bring pride back to Racine. The other problems are big such as crime, and high unemployment and the school system and would love to fix the problems.. But I think if we all as citizens had pride in Racine once again we would all be more willing to help out to fix what is broken. I heard a quote in Swedish that said something about to grow pride in your surroundings you have to settle roots and learn your history.
Racine really has an amazing history and we should not forget it..
2. Mr. Jozwik my 7th grade science teacher.. he was great.. and Ms. Pettit my 3D advanced art teacher in highschool..
3. For the most part.
4. Yup, I learned as a part of my education.
1. I don't want to be mayor or hold any political office at all...
2. My geometry teacher, Ms. Chawlek
3. Yes, in fact, very healthy.
4. NOPE, but I certainly should learn it....
Have a good weekend, Drew.
OK, here we go. Thanks Drew
1. Hire a secretary
2. Sister Mary Elenita and her ruler
3. extremely, but I will probably get hit by a runaway truck, so at least I can die healthy.
4. Yuk, no but I have seen it enough on TV to wing it, especially if she is cute.
You all are great, thanks for the great info and entertainment.
1. Abstaining from this one, as I am working on it!
2. Mr Pavco, my choir Teacher from Horlick and Mr Suo, my American Government Teacher. Also Coach Lenard, my Gyn Teacher at Jerstad. Very cool guy!
3. Im working on this too.
4. Yes, I am a trained First Responder.
Gym Teacher (Hand to head moment!)
1. I think I would sit down with all my people in administrative positions, talk to them about what they perceive their jobs to be, what they need from me... That way, I will know where the excess is and who I need to keep my eye on!
2. I had a lot of great teachers. It would be easier to remember the worst ones by name.
3. Yes, I try to take care of myself. I think I inherited a bad gene pool.
4. Yes. I've never had to use it though.
1. I don't want to be a mayor.
2. Ms. Batikis gym teacher as she was a motivator.
3. I guess I am healthy but I certainly need to exercise more.
4. I took a class about 25 years ago so I would need a refresher course.
Drew, you are making us really think this week - good job!
1. If I were Mayor, the first thing I would do is ask the elelctorate "What the hell were you thinking?"
On a serious note, the role of the mayor can vary from city to city (strong vs weak mayor forms of city government). Mayors generally can't do a lot about education...school board is a better position to tackle that issue.
In Tucson, I would fire everyone in my power who had anything to do with Rio Neuvo (the long stalled, money wasting downtown redevelopment project).
2. Mr F (math and science) and King Randy and Queen Peggy, a husband/wife who taught history and English. They were the ones that always had students over to their house watching sports and hanging out (my senior year, we showed up at their place at midnight with cake and ice cream on King Randy's birthday...I told the queen we were planning this surprise for him in advance to be sure they were not in a compromising position).
3. Good at exercise, could do better with diet.
4. Yes, have been certified in first aid/cpr continuously since 1994. Useful when teaching/coaching/and working with the public on a regular basis.
1) Bring in state and FBI task forces to wipe out pedophilia from city government and the county's judiciary. Halve my salary. Get the city OUT of the real estate business. Increase the police force to start enforcing the "little things," the Part 2 crimes that lead to Part 1 crimes because the laws weren't enforced in the first place. We have generations of people who have been raised lawless - that threat to the rest of the city must be eliminated. I could go on and on, but it will never happen anyway - way too many vested interests sucking the city dry and they will not stop until they are imprisoned or a bullet is put in their brains.
2) James Liddy, poet.
3) No.
4) No.
1. Fire the City Administrator, and ALL other not elected officials.
2. My 6th grade teacher at Knapp
3. Hell NO
4. Yes, been there done that.
RWWackoStu: It's Jerstad-Agerholm.
BOTH were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. I'M HOLLERING at you, because I had to do It to my girls when they attended the same school. Actually, I don't think they EVER got It?
I stand corrected.
Toad, Biggie D picked up all sorts of memorabilia from the estate sale of the mother of either Agerholm or Jerstad....can't recall which...
Barbara: Holy Mackeral. THAT Is the one thing I miss the most of Racine. The Estate Sales. I was NEVER able to be one of the first people In, but It was fun standing In line, waiting for the exciting start. I refused to get up at 3 in the morning just to try to find something, but managed to get my share of neat stuff. The John Batten sale was to die for. The whole back house was lined with Moose heads. I could have bought all I wanted on Sunday for a song. OH WELL. Who Is "Biggy D"
1. fire everybody and start fresh, clean house then clean up where I'm responsible for
2. Mr Pie, I had such a crush on him!
3. with all my allergies and asthma, kinda maybe..
4. nope
Thanks Mary!
1)I'd go out there on the streets with a notebook and ask the people what THEY want for the city. After all, they elected me to serve and represent them.
2) My English teacher from high school. She got to to love reading and writing again.
3) With my asthma from years of smoking-no.
4) Wish I did.
I would hire an outside firm to evaluate EVERY job in city government! And you can bet the slackers will be gone within 90 days.
Secondly – name a committee to oversee Unified; no more of them adding tax dollars or buying property without the approval of the citizens of Racine.
Orbs...yes Judges....grrrrrr. If they continue to slap hands they will be working at a massage parlor somewhere. If we need more jails...build them, they will come!
Teacher, my drafting teacher in high school, this guy knew his business!
Healthy....Hell no, but getting better every day.
CPR...I know New York CPR; you bend over them and yell, “You gonna die”! Actually I have been certified in CPR and First Aid.
1. actually learn how the city runs - what the different departments & staff actually do - it pretty much has run itself since 1921 (or whenever it was) through countless mayors & has changed very little. something must be working right. instead of firing staff - start listening to them!
2. mrs lynch in 4th grade who kept me after school for penmanship lessons - actually made a bit of a career out of it.
3. no.
4. no.
