Hello, my delectable daisies! How are you? Did you have a good 4th of July? The weather in Racine was perfect, just perfect. And the parade and fireworks were almost perfect, too. Even the 9/11 float that stirred so much pre-parade controversy went along smoothly. Hooray for Racine and for the USA! I know that the authorities had their hands full with the usual amount of hooliganism and rowdiness that occur every 4th of July. Hooray especially for our hardworking public servants, and boo to those who make their jobs so difficult. Summer is in full swing and there is so much to do that it is mind boggling. (By the way, one of my specialties is the un-boggling of minds. Cheap, effective, and guaranteed.) Animal Crackers tonight, Summerfest is going on, Salmon-A-Rama returns this weekend, as does the Renaissance Faire, while the Music and More and Music on the Monument series continue, and still more and more. Oh my! It’s breathtaking.

JT is saying around a 100,000 people watched the parade, that is great.
I wanted to see if I could take some pictures of the fireworks; I have been playing with my camera. Well I went down to the lake front with some sodas (ya right) at 3:30 in the afternoon...3:30 in the afternoon and not a place to park! The side streets around Lake Ave where also parked full, you almost had to park on Main Str. And the fireworks didn’t start till around 9pm!
So much for getting some pictures.....booohoooo
We went to see the fireworks by the lighthouse this year. Less people, less traffic, therefore less hassle. From the distance, we could see not only Racines's, but Kenosha's and Waukegan's as well...Got pics.

I went to my secret hiding spot and watched the Sturtevant fireworks. I don't even have to get out of the car... just point it in the right direction. Nice when it is skeetery... but the bugs weren't a problem this year. It was the woman at McDonald's afterward for my vanilla cone. Seems she couldn't quite handle counting money and ripped me off.
Mme. Z kindly transmitted the fireworks to me, in real time, via mental telepathy. I didn't even have to leave the apartment. Great show! Thank you, Mme. Z.
