There are always those who choose to take unnecessary risks. Making it legal would potentially expose more children to a risky proposition. Foodbourne illness is no small matter and can easily hospitalize or kill you. Personally, I think it is foolish to risk small nutritional differences by consuming it raw.
Gotta agree with KK, it's one thing if an adult chooses to feed themselves raw milk, but another if they feed children. There is a reason they made regulations on pasteurization. There has been ways around this by buying or part of a cow and being able to drink the milk it produces.. Thats fine i suppose but if it's sold in the stores it should be safe for consumption.

What are the stats concerning raw milk consumption and safety? Where it's allowed, do some people get sick?
From what I know about it, I say let them buy and sell raw milk. Make laws/stipulations on the handling and sale of it.
The government already controls too much of our lives.

Put warning labels on raw milk like they do cigarettes: Warning, consumption may cause illness.
I believe if there was a big cost savings between the two more people would use it. For instants, a $1.50 a gallon cheaper then todays Whole Milk.
Thinking of using it for cooking/baking I would think if there are any nasty’s in it, they would die off anyways once it reaches the boiling point.
