From The Journal Times.com:
"RACINE — Masked, armed subjects robbed one liquor store and
tried to rob another convenience store in a span of about 20 minutes
Thursday evening.
"The first store hit was Belle City Food Mart and
Laundromat, 522 16th St., where the robbers found that the doors had
been locked by employees. The second store, successfully robbed, was
Colonial Liquors at 2813 Taylor Ave.
"Both incidents occurred
around 7:30 p.m. and no one was injured at either store, according to
Sgt. Tim Koetting of the Racine Police Department, but it is unclear if
the same persons were responsible.
"Belle City Food Mart and
Laundromat was also robbed by two armed, masked men Nov. 26 and Dec. 29.
After the November robbery, owner Mazen Musa said the store had only
been robbed once before in 23 years.
"Employee Osama Abdelkhaleq
was working in the store during the December robbery and believed that
the two men who attempted to rob the store Thursday were the same ones
who robbed it last time.
“'They came up in the exact same way,' he
said, showing surveillance video of the two men attempting to enter the
locked doors, one clearly holding a gun. 'Since the last one, though,
we’ve started getting smart and locking the doors.'
"After the last
robbery, employees began keeping doors locked and manually letting
customers in and out, according to Abdelkhaleq.
"Although he
admitted that the policy can be tedious as a fellow employee rushed
between the customers at the cash register and customers at the door, he
said the security is worth the inconvenience.
“'I think it’s a lot better than leaving it open and letting someone come in with a gun,' Abdelkhaleq said."

I find it stunning and frightful that a business is reduced to locking and unlocking the door for customers in an attempt to prevent robbery. What have we become?

Clearly, the owners of Belle City Food Mart were in violation of the law and the fire code. People could have died had there been a fire! Locking the doors is a deliberate and premeditated violation of the law and shows a complete disregard and indifference to the safety of employees and customers. Further, a locked door may be indicative of discriminatory practices!
I recommend that the Racine SWAT Team be mobilized along with their Armored Vehicle. Additional back-up will be provided by the Milwaukee based ATF. A perimeter needs to be set up, and the criminal Owners, inside Belle City Food Mart, after a prolonged firefight in which thousands of rounds are fired - and tear gas is employed - is set ablaze and allowed to burn to the ground while RFD stands around and makes jokes. Following the fire, any remains are to be bulldozed, and the bill for all SWAT, ATF, and RPD services and materials provided will be sent to Belle City Food Mart Owners surviving relatives and immediate payment will be demanded.
As for the criminal owners of Colonial Liquors, they need to be charged with making nuisance calls to RPD and heavy fines and penalties levied. In addition, home surveillance of these criminal owners needs to begin immediately and a psychiatric evaluation be completed to make sure they don't do this again.
Little Detroit. All that is left is convienence stores and liquor stores. Nice job Dickert, you are a total failure.
Nice job Dickert, you are a total failure.
He's laughing all the way to the Bank!
From Racine Community Media:
RACINE- The aldermen of the City Of Racine have voted to approve raises totaling over $30K for the Mayor, Administrator and assistant!! As the documents from the 2014 city budget show, there are 3 employees including the mayor himself, each one of the 3 employees are raking in approx $129,777.00!!!!! There is a clear raise from $276,993.00 in administrative salaries in 2013, to the new and improved $307,343.00 in 2014, that’s an over $30K raise for the mayor’s office!!!! Don’t worry though, none of your elected officials or aldermen even questioned this move!! What the aldermen of Racine “DID DO” however is raise your property taxes 2.2 percent and also raise the recycling fee an additional $5 because the city is broke, they also raised the storm water fees for residents up an additional $7.51!!!!!!
And just you wait! I hear that there have been closed hearing concerning Team Porters! Dickert has got Racine property Owners by the BALLS!
City of Racine TID 17

The City also reserves the right to increase certain project costs to the extent others are reduced or not implemented, without amending the Plan.
The tax increment allocation is preliminary and is subject to adjustment based upon the implementation of the Plan. This Plan is not meant to be a budget nor an appropriation of funds for specific projects, but a framework within which to manage projects. All costs included in the Plan are estimates based on best information available. The City retains the right to delete projects or change the scope and/or timing of projects implemented as they are individually authorized by the Common Council, without amending the Plan.
AVAILABLE FINANCING METHODS
The City may issue G.O. Bonds or Notes to finance the cost of Projects included within this Plan.

Special Assessment “B” Bonds. The City has the ability to levy special assessments against benefited properties to pay part of the costs for street, curb, gutter, sewer, water, storm sewers and other infrastructure.
SUCKERS!
VIVA Las Vegas!
The BEST part - emphasized , once again!
Utility Revenue Bonds. The City can issue revenue bonds to be repaid from revenues of the sewer and/or water systems, including revenues paid by the City that represent service of the system to the City. There is neither a statutory nor constitutional limitation on the amount of revenue bonds that can be issued.
When will the residents of Racine get an accounting of the amounts that have been issued and directed to Team Porters?
Don't hold your breathe - for you will surely die!
VIVA! LAS VEGAS!!
and... your lost wages!
LOL.
we are losing the war on drugs and now people are getting hungry. They are going to feed their families one way or the other.
Yes KK, Racine is turning their residents into animals.
The alderman has called for a safety meeting: http://journaltimes.com/news/local/officials-call-safety-meeting/article_bce10020-7a96-11e3-a51c-0019bb2963f4.html
Again I ask, why does it have to get so bad before officials act? It's obvious that some aldermen have no idea what is happening in their districts. All we ever get in Racine is lies after the fact. Fuck the pigs that run this town.
Alderman Kaplan was obviously blindsided by the recall attempt in his district. He had a big mouth and was a loose cannon spouting all sorts of lies and hate. He had no idea what was happening in his district. Now he keeps his big mouth shut.
These assholes act like their seats on the Common Council are theirs by divine providence. Screw the people that they supposedly represent, this is all about them and their power trips. I don't know of a single one who actually talks to the people in his/her district.
Mine talked to me, but did nothing about the issue I brought to him.
I take back my statement about aldermen and their constituents talking. I know that aldermen receive many phone calls from the people in their districts, often from the same people repeatedly.
Btw, the alderman in the Belle City Food and Laundromat brouhaha is Krystyna Sarrazin. She is being challenged for her seat this spring by Kimberly Kane, a Dickert drone. Apparently, Alderman Sarrazin has offended The Almighty One by asking questions at Common Council meetings.
Meanwhile, Kane sits on the Cable Commission that recently ripped off taxpayers by stealing their cable channel and giving it to friends who use public access to pimp private enterprise. What a huge, stinking pile of shit that fiasco is. Out of it comes crawling Kane to do Dickert's dirty work.
And I was just thinking about moving into the quaint city of Racine............and rot......NOT
Orbs sez: What a huge, stinking pile of shit that fiasco is.
LOL.
It gets even better. Click HERE to see the new Cable Commission Agenda. It doesn't even list the members!!!
Lookee here, from the Agenda!
Public Comment will be limited to three minutes.
SO - the public is not wanted - and certainly their comments or input is not valued.
Please Note the new location for this months meeting will be held at the Skies Fall Studio
2745 Chicory Road Racine, WI
EXCEPT - 2745 Chicory Road is in Mt. Pleasant - and far from easy access for City of Racine residents who don't have a car.
Let's check the property record for 2745 Chicory Road. According to Racine County, the property was purchased by Real Estate Investments Ventures LLC for $2,500,000 in 2010. The parcel consists of 20.05 acres.
Who is Real Estate Investments Ventures LLC?
Well, according to the State of Wisconsin Department of Financial, it's Principal Office is located at 375 30TH AVE KENOSHA , WI 53144 United States of America.
BTW - did you note who is the overpaid official that heads the Wisconsin Department of financial Institutions? YEP - it's the sell out who FUCKED Racine residents and sold them out to the Brewer Stadium Tax - George Petak.
Who's at 375 30th. Ave in Kenosha?
Let's check with Kenosha County Property Records.
According to Kenosha records the owners are: GERALD W & TRACEY L BLOOM 375 30TH AVE KENOSHA, WI 53140. It's a nice spread too, with 22.95 acres of pure country living, a 2484sq.ft. Log style home and a 1430 sq.ft garage, assessed in 2013 for $445,000.
Who is Gerry Bloom?
According to LinkedIn, Jerry Bloom is President at Treasures Media Inc.,President at Treasures Christian Books, President at Wholesale Christian Books AND a graduate of Saint Catherines High School! The same almamatar as Mayor John Dickert!
SO Jerry Bloom owns the building, located in Mt. Pleasant, that now houses Belle City TV, the former CAR 25. He also owns Treasures Bookstore, 512 Main Street in Racine.
512 Main Street is owned by 512 Main Street LLC, whose mailing address is 2235 Newman Road, which is in Mt. Pleasant. Well now, 2235 Newman Road is owned by ex Raiders Quarterback Gordon Bittner Sr., who is also a Real Estate Agent for RE/MAX NEWPORT.
Mayor John Dickert used to be a Realtor at First Weber.
See how Racine works? One hand washes the other, and in a round about way - taxpayer money is being funneled to cronies through a tangled web of incestuous relationships.
BTW - does anyone really read this shit? I know the Mayor thinks nobody does. Did you go to the link for Mayor John Dickert?
Did you read Lying John's Message?
One part of his vision as well as one of his first acts as Mayor was to create a budget with zero percent increases without sacrificing services or jobs.
Meebe that was one of his first acts - but it was the last act for that first act! It's been nothing but budget increases and service and job cuts ever since!
PARTY ON! LYING JOHN!
