This is how rock 'n' roll is born. I love using the megaphone for a mike. In five years, this guy will be famous, or dead, or both.

Most bands start out in the garage or the yard. Maybe the basement, but it better be sound-proofed.

The Violent Femmes were playing on a street corner in Milwaukee when Chrissie Hynde (of The Pretenders - they were in town for a show) noticed them and offered them a spot.

to gain notoriety, the Beatles set up on top of an apartment building and started playing until the cops showed up and shut them down.
