From The New York Times:
"Joan Rivers,
the raspy loudmouth who pounced on America’s obsessions with flab,
face-lifts, body hair and other blemishes of neurotic life, including
her own, in five decades of caustic comedy that propelled her from
nightclubs to television to international stardom, died on Thursday in
Manhattan. She was 81."

Tell us your favorite joan Rivers joke, we need some livety
You know, like her or not,she paved the way for a lot of female comedians. I think it is sad that we don't care about another human being.
Levity is good. Let's have some as a toast to this woman!
she was really funny, crude and mean at times, but really funny. She had a wit quicker than most, and I think under the sharp exterior, she had a really good heart
I was really sad to see how this all played out. I agree with Liz on her assessment of her career. She did blaze the trail for other women, and she supported other women's careers when she guest hosted the tonight show.
I just saw her on Jimmy Fallon. Despite her age, she still seemed healthy in body and in mind. To have this happen because of a routine office procedure is tragic.
Can we talk?
She was a trailblazer. I liked her most in her early and mid career.
