I have to report for jury duty at 8 am today. I don't know if I can be impartial. The whole thing with people pleading not guilty when they are most definitely guilty makes me mad. Case and point the lady who chest butted an elderly lady, and it's on video.

I agree, Liz. No one is guilty anymore. The trial I sat through for DAYS of minutiae ended like this: the jury went in the room to deliberate. The first words spoken were, does anyone believe he is innocent? No one raised their hand. It took a couple of hours for us to figure out as many counts against the guy as we felt could stick. We ate lunch and got the heck out of there.

Heck...the lawlessness doesn't end with the citizens. Our legislators and law enforcers should be on trial, as well.

Liz, If you have formed an opinion, you should NOT be on the jury. You MUST be 100% impartial. Things happen, that you cannot possibly know, and to form an opinion, and feel strongly about It Is WRONG. Get off the panel If your picked.

Toad, it helped talking it out with another one in the pool while we waited. We came to the conclusion that it would really matter what kind of case it would be. Some we have different tolerance levels for, depending on life situations, past and present. That brought some clarity to my concern. We ended up getting sprung by 9:20. Talk about feeling unwanted, geesh...

I got "Sprung" yesterday, because I knew too much about the individuals involved from research online. I would still have been glad to serve, since I had no idea what the issue really was, until I got there. It than became clearer.

If picked as a juror you have to have an open mind. Things occur that you may not be aware of, and may make you think some other way. Pre-judging Is something I am completely aware of, as I was Pre-judged by EVERY new employee of the company I worked for those long 38 years, before they retired me. You CAN'T judge a book by it's cover.

I've been called to jury duty, but never had to serve. I must honestly say that I don't believe in our criminal justice system. Should I be a juror?
