Finally back in Tucson. Didn't get to meet the president...he didn't really wander the exhibits or telescopes after his speech, but did meet the Mythbusters and a bunch of astronauts. If you know the White House grounds, my scope was setup up down by the fountain. Still in a bit of a daze and wondering did THAT really happen?

So cool, and so happy for you! I sucked as much notoriety off of your experience as possible. Shared your pictures and my 2 degrees of Obama and Mythbusters with my friends and colleagues.
Hale, I'm sure you represented the Irregulars well. If any place is irregular, it's Washington, DC. Congratulations on the honor.
so glad the weather cooperated for it, you just never know. What a cool experience!
I think the whole thing was just fantastic.
After recovering a little bit, the best part was just to be there for a long time. We were there from noon to 3pm for setup and about 5:30 until after 10pm tearing down. There was time to just relax an enjoy the grounds, not being herded through on a tour.
I met the Mythbusters before the event. That was also casual since the participants hadn't arrived yet and there was time to relax and chat with them.
