RACINE — The Racine Department of Community Safety is offering to help fund local programs that focus on crime and violence reduction, the city announced Wednesday.

The city will award multiple grants, with a maximum of $50,000 per recipient, according to the city.

The grants are funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and the Medical College of Wisconsin Community Safety Fund. Priority will be given to programs that directly or indirectly strengthen community safety, the city said.

DCS Director John Tate II said the goal is to support “creative and effective interventions for our community by funding programs that foster personal growth and development, and a more connected community.”

“By investing in these local programs, we’re helping to create a safer community where everyone can thrive,” Tate said.

Mayor Cory Mason said in a news release that the city wants to help adults and children get back on track and achieve the futures they envision for themselves and for the community.

“The programs we invest in through these grants assist individuals in our community who encounter challenges by providing direct support, family services, and other resources,” Mason said.

The deadline to apply is March 21. Go to www.cityofracine.org/Purchasing and follow the purchasing instructions for DemandStar registration and searching.

I've rarely read more balderdash.  This statement says absolutely nothing, just more bureaucratic bullshit.
